Projects
New Clydesdale Colliery
Boipelo Mining Contractors (BMC) won a three-year contract from Universal Coal for contract mining and related services at New Clydesdale Colliery in Mpumalanga. The turnkey contract covers three underground sections of the mine over a 36-month duration. Employing continuous miners to extract coal from the number 2 seam, supported by a full fleet of shuttle cars, feeder breakers and conveyor system, all supplied by BMC. Further equipment includes roof bolters, load haul dumpers and other related pieces of equipment. The contract will employ about 175 people directly over and above a few specialist sub-contractors.
